The purpose of research is to explore : (1) family members?care recognition ability, their participation in family conference; (2) and the relationship between the level of their participation in the conference; (3) and their care recognition ability how well, the correlation between family members' participation in family conference. ?The study's target group were the family members of all the in-patients of psychiatric wards in a medical center located at center of Taiwan. The care recognition was divided into 5 categories : (A) the treatment process, (B) the patient care, (C) the mental support, (D) the community resources, and (E) the vocational information. Each category had 7 questions. The questionnaire had 35 questions in total. A 5-point Liker scale was utilized to evaluate the family members?care recognition ability. Samples were chosen by convenience sampling. Eighty-eight questionnaires were given to the family members. More than seventy-three percent of the questionnaires were returned and allegeable to participate the study. The data was analyzed by SPSS, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, T-distribution, one-way-ANOVA, and regression analysis. The results of the study showed that there was a positive correlation between family members?experience and level of participation in the family conference and their care recognition ability. The results of the survey indicated the family conference was important and valuable. The survey also suggested the need for future studies to further investigate the five categories in the psychiatric profession. The family education group and spiritual healing group could enhance family members?care recognizing ability. The family members could also get support from each other and relieve their stress during the process of participating the groups. |
