Ward orientation is the first step for new staffer student nurses as they are to introduced hospitals. The traditional way is to have it given by the head nurse via oral explanation on ward patrol. It is not only time consuming, but also decreases the willingness of learning. This project is dedicated to the evaluation of the drawbacks of traditional ward orientation and focuses on the problems by matrix analysis. The whole procedure of doing ward orientation by use of the multimedia technology includes: 1.Design the complete materials required for ward orientation; 2. Plan the standard of presented materials; 3.Build an evaluation and measuring model. The evaluation result showed that an average of I hour was saved per ward orientation; the overall time to be saved would be 85 hours yearly for ward orientation. Additionally, the new staff and student nurses are more than 90% satisfied with the ward orientation presented via multimedia. It is an innovative and attractive way to improve learning effect. The author hope that this report may be a helpful reference for on job training to all the clinical staff. |
