This case report is the nursing experience with the Peplau's theory to care about improvement of interpersonal relationship for a 27-year-old male who was diagnosed delusional disorder. The main factors caused his impairments in the interaction with others, including (1)suspicious attitude to others and lack of safe sensation about interpersonal relationship, (2)the regressive behaviors formed by the experience of anxiety due to his illness, and (3)frustrating sensation from the interaction with others. The Peplau's Theory was adapted to be our goal for nursing guide. We collected the information and made nursing assessment through close observation and interview, in the therapeutic interpersonal relationship. We found that nurses played the roles of resource persons, the instructors, and counselors who could help the client to ameliorate the impairment in interpersonal relationship. |
