Understanding the nurses' job satisfaction is vital in the nursing profession. The purpose of this study is to build up a reliable and valid instrument to measure the job satisfaction among nurses in Taiwan. A stratified systematically method was used to randomly select 408 nurses from a medical center. 348 nurses were completed. A modified nurse' job satisfaction scale was used. Factor analysis was performed for data analysis. The important findings were as follows: Five factors were extracted and named from MMSS, including interaction, professional participation, extrinsic rewards, control over work environment and schedule arrangement. These factors accounted for 57.93% of the total variance. Results of this study provided a basis for monitoring nurses' job satisfaction, offering opportunities to increase their self-achievement and job satisfaction, then elevating the quality of care. |
