It's common in the hospital to see patients or familyfrequently by ringing the bell to call nurses, thus distracting the nurses, work and disturbing the rest of other patients. In order to understand the reasons and rectify the problem of bell ringing, we analyze the causes of bell ringing for a period of 30 days. The result showed that majority of bell ringings were related to intravenous injection with a frequency of 534 times (80.92%). A further discussion of this problem revealed that the nurses, knowledge of intravenous injection rate and injection related problems was poor. Hence, a standard for nursing skill in intravenous injection was established, an intravenous injection instruction for patients was deviced, and a teaching of corrective measures was arranged. After an implementation of 2 months, the level of nursing knowledge increased from 51.34% to 91.69%, and the rate of bell ringing related to intravenous injection problems dropped from 534 times ( 66.50% of bell ringings for intravenous injection ) to 205 times (23.89% of bell ringing for intravenous injection ) achieving the goal of decreasing the rate of bell ringing. with this report. A standard for nursing skill in intravenous injection has been established, and incorporated into teaching lesson, to provide the nursing personnel a guideline on the standard of nursing skill in intravenous injection, thus raising the quality of nursing service in intravenous injection. |
