Whipple operation (pancreaticoduodenectomy) involoving multi-organ resections, is a complicated surgery. The rate of complication is up to 40 percent. It's challenge for nurses to offer good patient care. Relieving of anxiety and offering related information are the focus of the preoperative period. The patients' needs during the postoperative stage emphasizes on infection prevention, pain management, nutritional support, and body-image care. |
