The purpose of this study was to explore the process of supportive group in community –dwelling schizophrenic patients, and the characteristics of different developing stages and the issues of patients' concerns. Using the features of small groups and the strengths of social support to reach the therapeutic effects. There were eight participants in this study and group process recordings were inducted and gathered by content analysis. The findings from the results were as follow: The group issues that individuals explored and reflected each other most were illness experience and past trauma. The experience of illness includes: shock, faceing reality, loss and acceptance or indifference; past trauma includes the experience in school, family, friends and job. |
