The purpose of this study was to examine the‘Country-of-Origin Effect of Foreign Investment' on the competitiveness of tourism destination empirically. Since employees of HK-, Taiwanese-, and domestic private-funded enterprises in China represent one of the Chinese outbound employee travel market segments, they were treated as the research population of this study. Primary quantitative data were collected through structured questionnaires from a sample consisting of 506 Chinese employees respectively 145 from two HK-funded, 191 from four Taiwanese-funded and 170 from three domestic private-funded enterprises by purposive sampling. The results of Repeated Measures ANOVA show that (1) the COO effect of FI is of negative influence and partial significant impact on competitiveness of the tourism destinations; (2) there is no significant difference found between the destination competitiveness between Taiwan and Hong Kong. |
