Power politics and institutionalism are the two most important theoretical approaches in the field of international relations theory. By the use of institutionalism theoretical framework, this paper analyses the mainland China's strategic planning towards the Taiwan Issue since 1979. The author pointes out that the mainland China's strategic ideology to have gradually progressed beyond the considerations of pure power politics, gradually changing to an orientation of institutionalism strategy. Building on this foundation, the author proposes some suggestions for future policy. |
