公民個人層次的民主和平論及其在台海兩岸間的初步檢證

A Citizen-Level Democratic Peace Theory and Its Preliminary Test on the Taiwan-China Dyad

在多數有關民主和平論的研究中，分析單位多為個別的國家或其政府與決策者，本文則嘗試探討民主國家內部的公民個人在民主和平論中的角色。首先本文從相關文獻中找出公民在民主和平現象裡的角色。其次，本文經由演繹民主國家公民反對戰爭的原因，來建立公民個人與民主和平現象之間的關連。最後，本文以台灣對中國大陸為案例，採取迴歸統計分析的方法，針對公民個人層次的民主和平論進行初步的檢證。

The unit of analysis of most research on the Democratic Peace Theory (DPT) is either each individual state or its government and decision maker. This article tries to explore the role of citizens of democratic countries in the DPT. At first it reviews relevant literature to find out the citizens ' role. Then, by deriving the reasons why citizens of a democracy oppose wars, the article establishes the connection between individual citizens and democratic peace. Finally, a regression analysis on the Taiwan-China dyad is conducted for a preliminary test on this citizen-level democratic peace theory.
