This study compares media role perceptions among journalists in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Based on recent surveys of 1,647 Chinese Journalists, 533 Hong Kong journalists and 834 Taiwan journalists, the results of this study Suggest that that there are some significant similarities and differences among journalists in the three regions. The results also indicate that compared with individual characteristics, organizational factors and media industry, societal-level variables play a more important role in shaping journalists' perceptions of media roles in the three societies. |
