An online collaborative process of a cross-cultural communication project between Taiwan and the U.S. was studied and the collaborative outcomes wereanalyzed. The results indicated that the U.S. participants enjoyed interacting with their group members more, felt more comfortable communicating online, and had developed a better sense of community. However, more of the U.S. participants lurked online. Both sides of the students shared a similar desire in learning to communicate cross-culturally. The study implies a better structure of group participative guidelines and team-building activities at the onset of the collaboration. |
