The rise of new-style vending machines has attracted consumers to consume. TFDA has scheduled an inspection plan for vending machines since 2017. Four hundred eighty eight vending machines and the labeling of their products' were examined from 2017 to 2019, of which 73 (15%) failed to comply with the labeling requirements. The major non-compliances were incomplete information of machines' owners. In addition, 105 samples of vending machines' products at the market and manufacturing plants were tested for the sanitation standards, and the preliminary non-compliance rate was 8.6%. Further inspections on GHP for 17 processing factories manufacturing products for vending machines were carried; 11 processing factories during preliminary inspections did not meet the requirements of GHP, and all were re-qualified. The major non-compliances were inadequate implementation of management of waste or scrap products. |
