The purpose of this study is to investigate the status of humanistic spirit and teachers5 professional ethics. The difference and the correlation between humanistic spirit and teachers’ professional ethics in central region of Taiwan are also taken into consideration in this study. The researcher applied “Humanistic Spirit Scale” and “Professional Ethics Scale” to investigated 550 preschool educators in central region of Taiwan . There were 512 valid samples for data analysis. The data was statistically analyzed, and the conclusions were as follows : ( 1) The self-assessment results revealed that the educators had higher than average level in “humanistic spirit scale” and “professional ethics scale”; ( 2 ) The findings showed that in Humanistic Spirit Scale, there were significant differences on the background variables, such as service years, job position, highest degree of educational background, Early childhood professional background, school size and the experience of humanistic spirit courses. No significant differences were found in the background variables of the employed school, employed region, marriage status and the number of children.; ( 3 ) The findings showed that in Professional Ethics Scale, there were significant differences on the background variables, such as service year, employed region and the experience of experience of professional ethics courses. No significant differences were found in the background variables of the employed school, job position, highest degree of educational background, Early childhood professional background, and marriage status and the number of children; ( 4 ) Positive correlation between humanistic spirit and professional ethics was found in this study. |
