This is a book review on Teemu Ruskola’s Legal Orientalism. In its preface to Chinese readers, Ruskola hopes it to promote collective conversation on this subject matter. This article is part of the effort for Chinese legal historians to respond and start the conversation. This article has a “Chinacentered” focus on the periodization and reconceptualization of legal orientalism, and Chinese insights on lawlessness. |
