From 2D animations, we know that various types of visual metamorphosis exist. However, this has seldom been studied in scholarly research; therefore, we investigated various cases to determine the required skills for performing 2D-animation metamorphosis. Furthermore, we summarized the metamorphosis techniques, methods, and development processes. We analyzed six 2D-animation short films that demonstrate the metamorphosis technique and investigated the cases from two perspectives: “self-metamorphosis” and “transition through metamorphosis.” From these analysis, we used the rules to create a 2D-animation, titled “3×7=28.” We found metamorphosis in 2D animation can be interpreted ""complete metamorphosis"" and ""incomplete metamorphosis"" of transformation of insects. We can predict the effects by using the skill “in between”. |
