To establish local assessment criteria for pedestrian level winds around high-rise buildings, the study used the largest wind tunnel lab in Taiwan, providing broad space and steady winds, to conduct human reaction wind tests indifferent wind speed and activity scenarios. The major purpose of the study is to build up discomfort indices by semantic assessment to express how uncomfortable it would be in different wind speed and activity scenarios, and to decide the allowance probability by Weibull Distribution. The results show that the assessment criteria included five levels such as long exposure, short exposure, walking, uncomfortable and danger. The maximum limitations of gust wind speed of each level are, respectively: 7.8m/s、10.8m/s、12.7m/s、14.4m/s and the allowance probabilities are: 0.06%、0.09%、0.32%、1.24%. |
