Mental health promotion is an important treatment principle of family medicine; however, it is still focused on traditional medical model in clinical practice. This article introduces the concept of positive psychology, and how to implement to family medicine. Especially, this article discusses on some specific “positive traits” (i.e., proactive coping, optimism, positive thinking, and hope) which can apply to clinical practice in family medicine and promote the quality of primary care. Furthermore, this article talks about the applications of positive psychology in family medicine in terms of adherence, life circle and family health management. |
