Time evolution, unceasing urban environment space transformation and development urge public art installation to be seen everywhere in our living environment. It needs a further discussion whether various public art installations nowadays in our living environment beautifies the environment and interacts with the public. Most of domestic researches relating to public art discuss the relationships among public art, interaction and participation of human and the environment. Fewer researches aim at public art, affordance and interactive behavior intentions. Thus, this research adopted the concept of affordance to discuss the interrelationship between audience and public arts, and attempted to understand if there is any difference between affordance and interactive behavior intentions generated by different public arts toward audience. Calligraphy Greenway, CMP Block Museum of Arts, Museum of Natural Science and Park Lane by Splendor in Taichung city are the basic researching areas. Research subjects are the users who have interactive behavior with arts. Purposive sampling was used to collect data. There are total 406 effective samples. Canonical correlation, t-test and ANOVA were used to examine data. The result showed: 1. there is a correlation between perceived affordance of public art and different interactive behavior intentions. The higher the perceived affordance of public art that research subjects have, the higher the perception of interactive behavior intentions on public art. 2. There are significant differences between audience with different socioeconomic statuses toward perceived affordance of public art and toward interactive behavior intentions on public art. Results according to the empirical research provide the reference basis for future public art installation, management and maintenance and planning and design. |
