This research takes residential housing as its object and considers the safety and convenience of each age group, with an emphasis on the coordination of different needs such as those of children, women, disabled people and the aged. The concept of Universal Design Guidelines for Residential Housing is used by industry and referred to by the general public. The methodologies of this research include a study of literature and investigation, interviews, and mapping; moreover, focus groups are used to examine the outcome of this research. The conclusion is that universal design emphasizes accessibility and convenience. It can be moved easily and conveniently from public space to indoor space and also pays attention to health and safety.
