Banking industry is a key industry in Taiwan. Especially, the quality of human resource is more emphasized in banking industry. However, there is a problem of information asymmetry in human resource market. Financial certificates are good tools to solve this problem. With financial certification system, financial institutions can know whether job appliers are suitable for the jobs they apply. Theoretically, owning the financial certificates is a positive signal to human resource department. Professional certificates can partially substitute the role of selecting and training of human resource department. However, some practitioners disagree on this argument. This paper investigates the adoption and need of financial certificates by questionnaire surveying and HR officers in-depth discussion. After analyzing the firsthand data, we obtain the opinion about financial certificates from banks and provide suggestions to the certification system. The results show that banking industry generally agrees the effects of certification system. Financial certificates are useful to the staff in the banking industry. In addition to certificates of banking industry, certificates of securities and insurance industries are also important for the banks. |
