Neonatal lupus is a rare autoimmune disease in newborns caused by the passage of maternal autoantibodies through the placenta. Abnormalities of the central nervous system are potential presentations of neonatal lupus. Schizencephaly is an uncommon congenital central nervous system malformation caused by migration defect. Until now, no study has reported the correlation between neonatal lupus and schizencephaly. We presented a case of a newborn with schizencephaly and neonatal lupus erythematosus at our hospital. |
