The blog is a new way for information circulation and a new technical tool for information professionals. This article first introduces the background of the blog development as well as functions and characteristics of the blog. Next, purposes and modes of the library blog will be explored. The establishment and management of the library blog are also key points in this discussion. In addition, the ways of identifying the blog resources will be analyzed. Finally, this article provides some suggestions for the future development of the library blog, in view of possible challenges this future development may confront.
