Under the vision of developing talent in every student-nurture by nature, and promoting lifelong learning, the Curriculum Guidelines of 12-Year Basic Education comprises three core competency dimensions, namely autonomous action, interactive communication, and social participation. Consisting with the philosophy and spirit of gifted education, the curriculum guidelines serve as a reference for the promotion of gifted education. Curriculum design in gifted education must comply with the connotation of said curriculum guidelines as well as attend to the characteristics and needs of gifted students. This study used examples of practical curricula to explain how gifted curricula are designed by adjusting the connotation of the curriculum guidelines and embodying various educational philosophy orientations. |
