The Unipolar system strengthened by the United States after the 1990s has posed certain challenges to the International Political Economy. The relationship between the international power distribution and international institution has to be one of the main issues which are needed to be explored comprehensively. One would also discuss the complex about the national security concerns and the economic competition between/among the great powers. The economic re-distribution once is believed to be the casual effect on the explosion of the hegemonic war. However, such reasoning need more research on its application under the unipolarity. The hegemony's internal affairs also have the potential to become a vital source about the change of the international system, which the neoliberial-institutionalism and neo-realism are ignored in the cold war period. |
