This thesis investigates the pre-war and post-war novels of Du Nanyuanseries which were written by Long Yingzong. He returned to literary arena in 1970’s, and picked the character of Du Nanyuan which he had ever handled in pre-war period to re-portrait the memories and images of Japanese ruling time. He claimed that Du Nanyuan was the simulation of himself. Many viewers always judged that the pre-war and post-war novels of Du Nanyuan series were all in the same phenomena based on him claims. But such statement ignores the fundamental change and difference of time. Long Yingzong’s novels and informal essays are my main investigation pools. From the observation of internal factors and external factors , through the historic study, I try to re-portrait the novels of Du Nanyuan series, and expect to figure out Long Yingzong’s writing strategy of formulating the character of Du Nanyuan in different periods and languages. The focus of this thesis is Du Nanyuan’s claims which were represented by virtual character of Long Yingzong. Via the literature analysis between pre-claim and post-claim, I figure out how Long Yingzong constructed main body and self-identity between reality and virtuality. |
