Among triathlon participants, there was a group of recreational triathletes who declared themselves as completion-oriented athletes. This group of people deeply involved in this recreational sport with the belief of ''whoever finishes will be a winner'' and kept their attitude toward self-challenge. These triathlon participants accounting for most enrolling percentages of competition events shared the same process of registration, practice and competition-finishing following series of challenges from swimming, biking and running in the sports content. In order to interpret the phenomena of taking triathlon as serious recreational sport for continuing involvement, this study reviewed the related literature for recreational triathlon participants' experiences of competition-finishing process based on four stages, including: ''decide to register'', ''prepare seriously before competition'', ''keep moving forward'' and ''victory in the finishing line''. Also, some directions and suggestions were provided for future researches to make this study more contributive. |
