Ever since Taiwan government opened up its state-owned banks in 1990, the new-type state-owned banks have quickened their paces in the competition of financial market with the foreign banks. This has brought about great impact on the management and development of Taiwan state-owned banks. Under this background, leaded by the Taiwan's government, the privatization of state-owned banks started in 1997. On the whole, the privatization of state-owned banks is only a part of the Taiwan government's effort to privatize the state-owned businesses. Therefore, in view of the profound influences of the financial trade on the social economy and daily life, the privatization of the state-owned banks will affect both the whole financial trade and the living conditions of the staff. Taking the process of privatization of Taiwan's state-owned banks as a main stream, this paper studies, in detail, the problem of privatization of Taiwan's of state-owned banks and its effects on the financial trade, in order to provide some advisable experience and lessons for the development of the state-owned banks in mainland. |
