Content analysis is used in this study to investigate the ability of the websites of art museums to manage information and browsing functions in regard to their collections of paintings. This study utilized 20 museum websites and 400 artworks. The results are that ''painting title'' and ''painting method'' have the highest providing rate, while ''evaluation'' has the lowest providing rate on art museum websites for paintings; ''artist name,'' ''painting title,'' ''year of work,'' and ''drawing method'' are the most searched keywords; ''video function'' has the lowest searched keyword rate for paintings; there is a significant difference between American and European art museum websites in providing ''artist information''; and there is a significant difference between American and European art museum websites in providing ''search'' and ''zoom and effect.'' |
