A 45-year-old woman presented to the ophthalmology clinic with the complaint of blurred vision of bilateral eyes for 3 months. She was diagnosed as systemic lupus erythematosus 9 years before her presentation to ophthalmologist and she had been taking 400 mg of hydroxychloroquine per day (8.9 mg/kg/day) since then, with an estimated cumulative dose of 1280 g. She had no remarkable ophthalmic history before. On evaluation, slitlamp examination was unremarkable, and bestcorrected visual acuity was 0.7 and 1.0 (in decimal scale) in the right eye and the left eye, respectively. Thorough ophthalmologic work-up was done. |
