This book is the catalogue for an exhibition held in Ulaanbaatar. The exhibits can be roughly divided into two parts. The Marks of Civilization highlights the different media that have carried Han Chinese writings since ancient times, such as oracle bones, bronze inscriptions, stele rubbings, manuscripts, handwritten copies, and block prints. Memories of the Mongol Empire meanwhile highlights ancient Mongolia-related books, 'Phags-pa inscription rubbings, and contemporary Mongolia-related books and periodicals published in Taiwan. |
