In the digital era, many memory institutions actively digitize the important resources of their collections, along with the challenges of digital preservation. Factors such as the aging and detorioation of digital storage media, the obsolescence of digital file formats, and the authenticity and integrity of the digital files has made digital preservation more complicated. This study used the qualitative in-depth interview method to collect opinions of interviewed domestic memory institutions. The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of domestic memory institutions on digital preservation, their current state of implementation of digital preservation, and the correlation between PREMIS and digital preservation. Since domestic memory institutions do not currently implement PREMIS, it is suggested that domestic memory institutions can implement OAIS-compliant digital preservation systems with PREMIS in the near future, improve domestic memory institutions' understanding and fluency of digital preservation, and establish a national digital preservation mechanism. |
