英文摘要 |
Taiwan has investigated language usage in 1905, 1915, 1920, 1930, 1940 and 2010 censuses respectively. In addition to reviewing the survey method and definition in each census, this paper draws on these data to outline the profiles of language usage in Taiwan from past to present, especially the close relationship between languages and ethnic groups. Finally, this paper points out the shortcomings of the 2010 survey methods and calls for national language policy to be based on credible linguistic surveys. |
