The Bender-Gestalt Test used as a test for visual-verbal coordination requires S to make a detailed oral description of each of the first five Bender figures. In the present study. this method of using the Bender Test was introduced, and the results obtained with fifty subjects using this method were reported. The results showed that the method could yield materials highly valid for the assessment of Ss intelligence. It was suggested consequently that one could give the method an important role in the measurement of intelligence. The results also showed that the new method can yield materials unobtainable from other tests but capable of assisting the clinician to assess his client's attentional disposition, thought processes, and personality traits. Finally a discussion was included concerning the way by which valid systems for scoring these psychological processes might be established. |
