The term "zouyu" 騶虞 found within "Zouyu" of the "Shaonan" section 召南‧騶虞 in Shijing 詩經 has been discovered to be written as "conghu" 從 within the Warring States period Chu bamboo slips collected by Anhui University. As an important variant written form, this difference can prompt us to consider a myriad of topics, such as the differences in the ideas of poetry composition and the purposes of teaching poetry, as well as the relationships between handed-down and excavated versions of Shijing. Based on previous supplementary discussions on "conghu," this article attempts to bring together related backgrounds, contexts, and research findings, and analyze several points worth our attention as well as proposing two different types of relationships between handed-down and excavated versions of "Zouyu." |
