黃錫祉(1866-1938),名福,錫祉其字,台灣新竹人,係1930年代號為台灣「兩大說部」之一《征交趾》的編著者,善於「講古」,人稱「講古福先」。關於其人其事,新竹地區的方志早有記載,可惜截至目前為止僅有少數研究者注意過,本文將在前人既有的研究基礎上,首先根據最新發現的族譜文獻,爬梳黃氏家族從金門後水頭遷居台灣新竹的來龍去脈,考證黃錫祉乃金門汶水黃氏派下第17世裔孫,發現黃錫祉除了「福」、「壽甫」,尚有「奕祿」、「伯福」等名號。其次,在黃錫祉童蒙讀物著作及小說的成就以外,本文討論了其在編寫歌仔冊、漢詩書寫、製謎猜謎等前人甚少述及的文藝活動,並根據報刊文獻所載,指出黃錫祉乃1930年代台灣名氣最為響亮的「講古先」。
Huang Xi-Zhi was a well-known Taiwanese storyteller and editor for “Zheng Jiao Zhi” back in the 1930s. He came from Hsinchu Taiwan and having a given name of “Fu” and a courtesy name of “Xi-Zhi”. Although Huang’s have been recorded in the local chronicles of Hsinchu, the attention on his studies in academic circles is fewer. Based on previous studies and newly discovered genealogical documents, this paper focuses on making clear the origins and development of Huang’s family migration from Shuitou Kinmen to Hsinchu Taiwan, and clarify that Huang is the 17th descendant of the Wen-shui Huang family in Kinmen. Other than “Fu” and “Shou-Fu”, the researcher also found that Huang is having several given name such as “Yi-lu”, “Bo-Fu” and more. Besides that, this paper will also discuss the literary and artistic activities that rarely mentioned by previous studies, such as compiling songbooks, writing Chinese poetry, making riddles and guessing riddles in order to point out that Huang Xi-Zhi was the most famous Taiwanese storyteller back in the 1930s. |
