National Laboratory Animal Center(2006)

The National Laboratory Animal Center(NLAC) , located on the campus of Academia Sinica in Nankang, Taipei, was established by Taiwan's National Science Council(NSC) , Executive Yuan, in 1994. The NLAC is one of the nine institutions under the National Applied Research Laboratories(NARL) as of 2003. The NLAC is a non-profit organization and currently has more than 80 formal employees. Under the Director General, there are Vice Directors, the Administration Division, Animal Breeding Division, Research and Development Division and Planning Division. Most of the employees are professionals in the biomedical field. The NLAC's vision is to become a compact“ Jackson Lab” and to provide essential laboratory animal science resources and nationwide training in the field of animal science.
