Discovery of the Beauty of Vietnamese Traditional Pattern in Resort Design

Along with socioeconomic developments and the progress of human civilization, the remarkable improvements have taken place in traditional interior design. In Vietnam, the traditional pattern design is not only the decoration, but also the national pride under the development plan. It is because the traditional pattern plays such an important role in contemporary world recently. Nowadays, we are entering a new era full of innovations and dramatic changes have happened especially in people's attitudes towards traditional values. In order to maintain the characteristics and meaningful of pattern, this study is conducted to beauty and values of the Vietnamese traditional pattern in future resort development. The purposed of this study is to re-design the interior spaces in conserving the time-honored in resort development in Sapa highland town – Northwest Vietnam to instill the value of national pride into future incoming generations. The methodology used in this study is harmonious combination of the traditional pattern, architecture and the cultural identity of minority groups in Sapa to bring back the inspiration from traditional Vietnamese values.
