Because of the attractiveness of comic graphics, for a long time, people have tried to explain knowledge by images and graphics, especially using comic cartoons. Besides, comic cartoons became an alternative communication media for educators to transmit knowledge. It is known that science concept expressed by comic graphic will attract students' learning. The 'Explore 90% Unknown Samuel C. C. Ting and the Particle' exhibition at the National Science and Technology Museum, Taiwan tried to use it in the exhibitions. This study applied qualitative approach to investigate visitor's perspective on this science exhibition with comic graphic panels. The hidden tracing and semi-structured interviews were applied to collect data from visitors. By analyzing the qualitative data, this study found that visitors did appreciate the comic graphics which was helpful for them to know more about the exhibited science content, though there were also comments about the amount of words on the display panel, the comic consistency etc. This study also concluded three practical suggestions for developing such kind of science exhibitions. |
