CCS's Visiting Scholars Attend the 2018 R.O.C. National Day Reception The 2018 R.O.C. National Day Reception was held at the Taipei Guest House on October 10, as is customary. The National Central Library (NCL) made special arrangements to have CCS's recipients of the Research Grant for Foreign Scholars in Chinese Studies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' recipients of the Taiwan Fellowship and their spouses to attend. A total of 46 scholars and their spouses from 26 countries were in attendance, accompanied by NCL Director-General Shu-hsien Tseng and senior library staff. The guests were entertained with a varied program of activities and performances on the theme of this year's reception, “Taiwan Together,” including music, traditional customs, international dance, and cosplay. The reception was also honored by the presence of President Ing-wen Tsai, as well as senior politicians, economists, and heads of diplomatic missions in Taiwan.
