To improve public awareness about communicable diseases and related policies, as well as public support for Taiwan CDC's efforts, the agency has created a health marketing program. The program is aimed to promote disease prevention among the general public through a series of interactive events. To strengthen risk communication with the public, improve public awareness, and involve everyone in efforts against epidemics. A news monitoring and alert mechanism was set in place to enhance communication of communicable disease control policies. In 2017, a total of 4,595 pieces of related news were reported in response to public concern over matters related to disease control. Competent authorities voluntarily held press conferences and issued press releases to keep the public informed and intensify policy communication. Moreover, 61 press conferences had been held, 195 press releases had been issued, and a total of 1,878 news reports had been made. |
