NCL’s Center for Chinese Studies held two Global Chinese Studies Lectures on April 17. Invited to present their research findings at the first session were Professor David M. Robinson, Fulbright Scholar, and 2018 CCS Visiting Scholar Professor Nurlan Kenzheakhmet. Both shared the fruits of their research whilst in Taiwan. Associate Research Fellow from Academia Sinica’s Institute of History and Philology Chen Hsi-yuan served as moderator. The f irst presentation was by Professor Robinson of History at Colgate University on “Was Tengri Qaghan Also in the Ming Court? A Look at the Image of an Emperor in Inner Asia during Early and Middle Ming.” The second presentation was by Professor Kenzheakhmet from Social Science College at Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan, who spoke on “The Ming Court’s Relationship with Eurasian Countries during the 15th and 16th Centuries.” |
