IPA analysis and local Getis-Ord statistics are used to discuss the cycling environment and spatial clustering of cyclist source areas. A total of 365 valid questionnaires were collected. Significant within-group differences were found regarding the importance scores of environmental factors, as well as the satisfaction scores with those factors. Four attributes with high importance but low performance are required for immediate improvement. Spatial clustering was carried out nearby the destination (in this case Tamsui). The results showed that distance is an important factor for the cyclists who use the Tamsui cycling path. An in-depth examination of between-group differences in terms of the importance and satisfaction with environmental preferences was carried out in relation to the cycling environment. The results provide useful information for evaluating the efficiency of governmental-resource allocations and provide important guidelines for an appropriate cycling policy concerned development of cycling environments. |
