Local culture industry was brewed with region particularity, such as local culture, society history, and institutions. The souvenirs industry belongs to local culture industry possess distinctive regional character and inherited history. The souvenir industry not only represents a local mark or a symbol, but also offers unique competitive advantages of region in the Age of Globalization. The research focus on the souvenirs industry, investigates what is the local culture and the transition of the embeddedness between souvenirs and Kinmen. Kinmen was built by geographical position and war history fully of many nature resources. This study finds the mass of tourism development leads to the nature resource, broomcorn, peanuts, I-Tiao-Gung, those have been replaced by more import materials. War culture disappears gradually on the tourism. The embeddedness between souvenirs industry and Kinmen is changed gradually. This research suggests that local culture industry should be organized by the local particularity and local culture. The souvenir industry should reflect on retaining and creating symbol signature of war culture of Kinmen. |
