The Chinese-speaking Learners of Japanese translated thissentence into with '如果那是青色的話, ...'. Due to both Japanese andChinese use Kanji, it could be affected by its native language andtranslate Japanese Kanji to Chinese Characters directly. Anyway, what isexact in this case? ?< indigo blue >?< blue> ? As translationincorrect, it is likely to result in misunderstanding, and it is very difficultfor the author to correctly express the concept or meaning to the readers.This paper try to extract the color words from Miyazawa Kenji's work『銀河鉄道の夜』and its Chinese translation editions which published inTaiwan, and compare them. Whether these color words have according tothe dictionary definition translates(「赤」=<紅>) or not? Are thosetranslations right? Are there other suitable translations?Japanese-Chinese dictionary is also a necessary tool for the personengaged in translation. If there is translation more suitable than adictionary, we have like to use the outcome for future dictionary revision. |
