Many related services have been developed, in tandem with wirelessnetworking technologies. Since GPS does not apply to the indoorenvironment there has been much interest in developing tracking systemsfor use indoors. The RADAR system utilizes the IEEE 802.11 wirelesslocal area network to locate, but places a huge computational burden on thesystem. The future development of prediction models, in order to reducecomputation, save manpower and time, will definitely involve errors.Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) has been widely accepted andapplied because of its ability to recognize user identity (UID), its small sizetags, and easy installation. This paper proposes a combination of awireless local area network environment, and RFID technology, to producea positioning and tracking system using RFID to improve on the accuracyof RADAR and the prediction model to provide timely correctionfunctions. |
