Safety is the prime consideration in the design and manufacture ofhigh pressure containers. Therefore, quality analysis of container strengthin withstanding internal pressurization is a vital issue. This work hasinvestigated cylindrical high pressure containers. The FE method wasapplied to analyze the effect of thickness, height, outer diameter andworkpiece material on the container strength in withstanding internalpressurization. Weakening spots and fractures were predicted. TheTaguchi method was further applied to evaluate the optimum design of thestructure of high pressure containers. |
