This paper presents experimental results concerning the dischargingelectrical efficiency of directed methanol fuel cells. The testing includedthe temperature effect on methanol fuel, the pressure effect of a fuel inleton methanol fuel and the analysis of stability of discharging electrical dischargeefficiency of methanol fuel over a long period. From the experimentalresults, we can understand whether temperature factor effects theelectrical discharge efficiency of methanol fuel. Also, we found whetherthe pressure on a fuel cell inlet effects the electrical discharge efficiency. Finally, we inspected whether the electric discharge from methanol fuel isstable over a long time. The experimental results of this paper are represented as follows: (1)The higher the temperature of the methanol fuel is, the better electricaldischarge efficiency is. The output power at 40 °C is 165% higher thanthat of 20 °C. (2) Fuel inlet pressure increase on methanol fuel cell is not helpful for the power output. When the pressure differential between inletand fuel surface is H = 21.2 mm, we found that the output power of amethanol fuel cell peaked. (3) For electrical discharge stability ofmethanol fuel, we found that it increases directly proportional to the volumeof methanol fuel. |
