This study aimed to construct an image detection system for 0402paper carrier tape pieces employing image processing technology. Thesystem was designed to measure the size of the punched hole and its deckleedge length, so as to check the quality of the pressing products and serve asthe base for judgment and adjustment of the die being used. It utilized theimages captured by a CCD camera and the movement of the platformdriven by the motor to examine 10 slices of paper tape each time. Afterthe detection, the size and deckle edge length, the average value, the 3ó ,the maximum and the minimum, the subtract value, and the processperformance (Cpk) all were known and were utilized to check the qualityof the pressing products. The experimental results of the study indicated that the detection system could save a great deal of time, with only 64seconds for each piece of paper tape, 0.005mm maximum error, 3.86% thegreatest percentage of error, and 0.017 mm deckle edge detecting error. Inaddition, the position of deck edge was located and the length measured too, which helped provide information for die adjustment. In brief, this imagedetection system has proved to effectively replace manual measuringprocedures, reduce mistakes and save time, and substantially increasemanufacturing efficiency. |
