This paper studies the optimum proportional-integral-derivative (PID)controller design for a DC motor position control. Since the evolutionaryprogramming (EP) algorithm has been considered as a useful technique forfinding global optimization solutions for certain complicated functions inrecent years, we attempt to combine the EP algorithm with the PID controldesign to solve the positioning control problem of a DC motor, such that aperformance index of integrated-absolute error (IAE) is minimized. Last, aQUANSER DC Motor position control system is used to verify thesuperiority of the proposed method. |
